Spring Festa in Isumi 2015 starting

Specialty of spring in Isumi is not just scenery of cole flower and Isumi railway!
There are much more options including Kurabiraki (Opening of a brewery for the first time in the year) of brewery Kidoizumi Shuzo, and strawberry picking.
Come and visit Isumi to enjoy early spring.

Each event is held on different dates.

Our New Proposal – Short Stay in Isumi. ”Trial Stay Program” will start!

Tours to meet people and experience life in Isumi have been held regularly, and many people asked us if there was any place to stay where they could experience to “live” in Isumi instead of visiting.

Why don’t you take one step further and stay in a house in Isumi for a week to feel and experience the life here.
You are welcomed to stay in the place to picture yourself living in the country!

・You must register with “Isumi-shi Akiya Bank (which provides you information of vacant house.)” The use is limited to people who consider relocation to Isumi.
・You will be asked to answer a questionnaire about the stay and keep a journal during the stay.
・There is no fixed schedule or plan offered from us during the stay. Please make your own plan.
・Our staff of NPO Isumi Lifestyle Laboratory will provide consultation on your relocation or town information etc.
・Usage fee of the facility is free, but the other fee and cost such as food, transportation etc. are your responsibility.
・Furnishings are vary depending on the facility. Please ask for the details before your stay.

The Cheese in Isumi won Awards!

Japanese spiny lobster, Isumi rice…
There are many specialty products in Isumi.

Among those, “Cheese made in Isumi city” became a popular topic of our conversation between staffs as new specialty foods.
There are no less than 5 cheese factories in Isumi city, and each of them makes distinctive cheese using local (Isumi) milk.

Such Isumi cheese won awards at JAPAN CHEESE AWARD 2014!
The award winning cheeses are as follows:
・Gold Prize “Makiba no Taiyo” from cheese factory of Takahide farm
・Bronze Prize “Mozzarella Cheese” from cheese factory Yojuemon

The results are here (Website of Cheese Professional Association).

121 cheeses from 61 factories were nominated for the award, and I am very happy that cheeses from Isumi were selected among them.

I expect the further success of cheese factories in Isumi!!
